Privacy Policy

Last updated: . This page explains what data Daily AI Toolkit collects, what we don't, and your rights.

Short version: we don't require an account, we don't store the text you put into the tools, and the only personal data we keep is an anonymized count of requests per IP to prevent abuse. Third-party services (Google Gemini for tool output, Google AdSense for ads, Google Analytics if enabled) handle data under their own policies, which we link below.

1. Who we are

Daily AI Toolkit ("we", "us", "our") is operated as a small independent web project. Contact: hello@littlealmanac.com. For privacy-specific requests, please put "Privacy" in the subject line.

2. Data we collect

2.1 Information you provide

When you use one of our tools, you provide input text (the thing you want summarized, rewritten, translated, etc.). This text is sent in real time to Google Gemini for processing and then used to compose the response you see on the page. We do not store the contents of your input on our servers.

If you contact us by email or form, you provide your name, email, and message contents. We retain this only as long as needed to reply and any reasonable follow-up.

2.2 Automatic information

  • IP address (hashed): we keep a SHA-256 hashed, truncated version of your IP address for up to one hour, used only to enforce rate limits (preventing abuse).
  • Standard web server logs: our hosting provider may log request times, status codes, and user agents for up to 30 days, per their standard practice.
  • Cookies set by third-party services: Google AdSense and Google Analytics (if enabled) set their own cookies. See section 4.

3. How we use this information

  • To run the tool you requested (sending your input to the AI provider and showing you the output).
  • To prevent abuse via rate limiting.
  • To respond to messages you send us.
  • To understand site usage in aggregate (page views, browser types).
  • To show advertising (see section 4).

We do not sell your data. We do not build user profiles. We do not have an email list.

4. Third-party services

4.1 Google Gemini (AI processing)

Your tool inputs are sent to Google's Gemini API for processing. According to Google's API terms in effect on the date of this policy, paid API usage is not used to train Google's models, and request data is processed under Google's standard cloud terms. Free tier usage may have different retention. See: Google Privacy Policy and Gemini API Terms.

4.2 Google AdSense

This site is supported by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info. Google uses the DoubleClick DART cookie; details at Google's ad policy.

4.3 Google Analytics (if enabled)

We may use Google Analytics to understand aggregate usage. IP anonymization is enabled where supported. See the GA opt-out browser add-on.

4.4 Form submission service (Formspree, if used)

If you use the contact form, your message is sent through Formspree (or your chosen form provider). See their privacy policy for details on how they handle your submission.

5. Cookies

Our site itself sets no first-party cookies. Third-party services (AdSense, Analytics, Formspree) set their own. Most browsers let you disable cookies — note this may affect ad relevance but not tool functionality.

6. Children's privacy

Daily AI Toolkit is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us so we can delete it.

7. Your rights (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA, and similar)

If you are a resident of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, California, or any jurisdiction with similar privacy laws, you have the right to:

  • Request a copy of personal data we hold about you (note: for most users, this is only an anonymized rate-limit counter, which is not personally identifiable).
  • Request correction or deletion of personal data.
  • Object to or restrict processing.
  • Opt out of targeted advertising via the third-party links above.
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

To make a request, email hello@littlealmanac.com with "Privacy Request" in the subject line.

8. Data security

We use HTTPS for all traffic. The API key used to access Google Gemini is stored server-side and never exposed to the browser. We do our best to follow standard security practices, but no system on the internet is perfectly secure.

9. International transfers

Because we use Google Gemini, which processes requests on infrastructure that may be located outside your country (including in the United States), your data is transferred internationally when you use our tools. Google uses Standard Contractual Clauses and other legal mechanisms for these transfers.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the project evolves. Changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be highlighted on the homepage.
